Inquiry and Problem Solving: Research in the New Urban Environment

Sean Galvin (LaGuardia Community College)

I ask “What is a ‘natural state’ in the COVID-19 environment?” How can we support students’ inquiry and problem solving skills so critical to developing academic and professional advancement when festivals and holidays have been canceled or severely curtailed and traditions as we understand them are not being practiced with any resemblance to their natural state? Is this a blip on a screen and all will return to normal when our natural state is restored through herd immunity? What is normal? I will conclude by engaging the audience in a rubric norming session.
