Jesse Barber (South Arts)
[Redacted] completed his BA in interdisciplinary studies from Appalachian State University in 2022, with a concentration in documentary studies in Appalachia. He will speak about balancing the perspectives of a photographer/documentarian and an academic researcher. Understanding the importance of visual expectations in media that is to be consumed by the public, [redacted] has learned to create documentary work that tells a nuanced, engaging story while also functioning as primary source data that will be deposited in an archive for use by future researchers.
