Bio: g'beda T. Lyles is an independent audio producer, storyteller, writer, editor, sound designer, field recorder, musician and performing artist. This 2022 Texas Folklife fellow is mentored and trained by folklorists, archivists, audio producers, and National Public Radio and BBC affiliated journalists. In The Folklorist Next Door cohort, g’beda explored the life of three mariachis living on the borderland of El Paso, Texas in the “Becoming an Honorary Mariachi” podcast. g'beda has a natural gift for capturing the nuances in stories that engage listeners.
